Rabbi Yossi Schwei was born in New York and has been the Rabbi of the Luton Synagogue since 1990. Prior to that, he was involved in outreach work and learning programmes for children and adults in Morristown New Jersey, New Haven Connecticut, Montreal and the former Soviet Union.
He studied at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Morristown NJ, New Haven CT & Central Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in New York where he received his Rabbinical ordination in September 1988 from Rabbi Y. Y. Piekarski. OB”M
Rabbi Schwei together with his wife Rivkah have established a very good rapport with members of the Luton Jewish Community. They are also involved in showing the Shul to many of the local schools as well as adults from the wider community who seek to know more about the Jewish way of life.
