Rabbi Simon Harris read Hebrew at SOAS, followed by six years studying in Jerusalem. He received Semicha from, among others, HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Kolitz Zatzal. Rabbi Harris holds a Masters in Oriental Studies from Oxford, and is currently occupied with post graduate research focused on the Redaction of the Babylonian Talmud. Rabbi Harris also worked as a Honorary Research Fellow on a project entitled a “Literary & Linguistic Analysis of Zoharic Aramaic” based at University College London.
Rabbi Harris has served as Minister of the Bournemouth Hebrew Congregation, Chief Rabbi of Ireland, Western Marble Arch and spent six years as Senior Minister at the Great Synagogue, Cape Town. Rabbi Harris joined Wembley United Synagogue in July 2007.
