Barry Shaw

Barry was elected as a Trustee of the United Synagogue in July 2017.

Prior to this, Barry served on the US Council for a number of years.

Professionally a property lawyer, Barry has lived in Borehamwood & Elstree (BES) for over 30 years, together with his wife and three children. Barry has served for six years as Chairman and Vice-Chairman, and many years as a board member, holding a number of portfolios. Barry has also had leading roles on two rabbinic selection committees. 

Barry is particularly interested in informal Jewish education and believes passionately in the role of the US as a centrist and inclusive modern orthodox organisation within the Jewish community.
