Woodford Forest United Synagogue hosted the first East London showing of a film about the remarkable life of Amelie Jakobovits, affectionately known as 'Lady J'. Lady J created the role of Chief Rebbetzen and was a true Ayshet Chayil. The film illustrated her extraordinarily busy life and her dedication to the Jewish community, as well as her ability to connect with everyone that she met. The event was introduced by Lady J's daughter, Shoshana Turner, and raised over £300 for JRoots. 60 people attended the evening which was held to mark the 60th birthday of Woodford Forest member, Pamela Rainsbury.
