Following the departure of former youth leader Scott Michaels for university, Watford Synagogue has appointed Devorah Roselaar as the community’s new Youth Director. Although Devorah has been living in Hendon for the past five years she is returning to her roots as she was born in Watford when her father was Rabbi of the Synagogue and lived in the town until she was two!

Devorah, who is studying for a degree In Primary School Education at Middlesex University, already has experience in youth work, having been involved in running summer camps and community fun days. Attracted to the role by the Synagogue’s “warm community”, she is looking forward to “developing engaging and social activities for youth of all ages within Watford’s Jewish community, starting with a Chanukah party and monthly club nights.”
