Under Project Chesed, we encourage our members to become involved in a range of projects that will make a positive difference to the wider Jewish community and beyond, while at the same time offering our members as wide a variety of volunteering opportunities as possible. In recent weeks and months it has been impossible to ignore the plight of those fleeing Syria as well as other refugees and asylum-seekers, which is why we have set up this link to the Support Refugees website.  If you think you might be interested in trying to support refugees, whether that’s through befriending young unaccompanied asylum-seekers, helping at a drop-in centre or donating nappies to name just a few examples, then please click here to see how you can help.

If you are a synagogue who would like to develop your own project to help this particular group, then please get in touch with US Chesed and we will do our best to assist you. You will also be able to let your members and other synagogues know about your plans by using the area to promote your own vacancies.
