If you got a buzz out of Mitzvah day, then you might be interested in some other volunteering opportunities that are available over the winter holidays.

This is a time when regular volunteers and workers go on holiday for the festive season, so it provides an excellent opportunity for the Jewish community to make a difference in people’s lives and help fill those places.

If you will be off work, your children will be off school, or you just have some time on your hands, sign up to volunteer for one of these fantastic opportunities over the holiday period.

1)     Project Chesed is working with Tikun in offering an opportunity to  come together over the holidays and cook for those in need. The cooking sessions are for members of all ages (no under 5’s) and will take place in the kitchens of several United Synagogues. If you would like to get involved in this cooking project please contact obarnett@theus.org.uk or at 020 8343 6238 and we will let you know your  participating local United Synagogue. Not only will you have fun in the kitchen, but you will be making a difference at the same time!

2)     Light Up a Life in partnership with JVN provides over 100 volunteering activities in 10 days. The volunteering opportunities are being held from 23rd December to 1st January. You choose the date/time that you are free, and they will find an activity that suits your availability and interest. Log on to their website for their user friendly volunteering service and sign-up today!
