United Synagogue Honorary Officers were recently invited to join a 2-hour online training session held in partnership with Jewish Women’s Aid. This bespoke training session was designed with the aim of looking at how domestic abuse impacts on the various aspects of the role for Honorary Officers.

Issues relating to domestic and sexual abuse were explored as well as looking at the vital work that JWA carries out every day in our communities.

The training started with an introduction from Madeleine Abramson, Chair of both JWA and the Hampstead Synagogue and was followed by an excellent session from Lee Wax, JWA’s training coordinator.

Following on from break out rooms, where thoughts and ideas were shared amongst the HOs, attendees began the process of writing action plans for their communities.

The training session concluded with a very useful discussion and Q&A with Jo Grose also answering questions.
