Tribe have announced today the appointment of one of the Jewish community’s most talented and well-respected educators. In September, Rabbi Cobi Ebrahimoff (widely known as Rav E) will become the Tribe Rabbi responsible for all of the organisations programming activity.

David Collins, United Synagogue Director of Jewish Living said: “Rabbi Ebrahimoff is one of the Jewish community’s star educators. We already have an incredibly talented team working at Tribe and this appointment is a perfect fit. Our mission is to create a future for our communities through engaging, educating and inspiring the next generation – Rav E is perfectly placed to help us do just that.”

Rabbi Ebrahimoff brings with him his 15 years’ experience at the Independent Jewish Day School, latterly as the Headteacher presiding over the school’s ‘Outstanding’ rating by OFSTED.

Rabbi Ebrahimoff will work in partnership with The US’ Jewish Living Senior Rabbi, Michael Laitner, Tribe Rabbi, Eli Levin, and Tribe Head of Education, Sharon Radley. He will be responsible for innovating and delivering creative activities for schools and local communities, forging links between the two, as well as large-scale central Tribe initiatives.

His role is expected to keep him on the move; he plans to spend up to 12 Shabbatot annually in US communities or on US and Tribe programmes including residential Shabbatonim and camps, both within and outside the UK.

Rabbi Ebrahimoff said: “The growing reputation of Tribe’s work is something I want to be a part of. This is an extremely exciting role for me and I am very much looking forward to engaging a huge number of young Jews with the richness of our heritage. I want to inspire the next generation with a real connection to Jewish values rooted in a love of Torah and Israel.”

Rabbi Ebrahimoff is married to Reut (known as Tutti), with 5 children.
