Last Shabbat, the New West End Synagogue celebrated a special “Batmitzvah” for community member Felicity Miller.

Despite turning 48 this year, the community celebrated Felicity’s Batmitzvah birthday this Shabbat, as she was born on the 29th of February. A Kiddush was made, and Felicity gave a D’var Torah. She was also thanked for the work she has done for the community, and was presented with a book about Purim.

Felicity’s Hebrew birthday coincides with Purim, which is one of the highlights of the year at the New West End, who join with Central Synagogue each year. One of Felicity’s many roles is to help to produce the Purim Shpiel, known as the “Purim Jewsical” which is performed together with members from both the New West End and Central Synagogues.

Rabbi Freedman said, “We wish Felicity, her husband Frank, children Alex, Ben and Josh and her father Trevor Toube Mazel Tov on this lovely occasion.”
