Wembley Synagogue members celebrated Shabbat together on 28 October 2017, joining Jews around the United Kingdom supporting the Chief Rabbi’s campaign for ShabbatUK.

After the morning service, a communal lunch brought together 3 generations of members aged 9-105, born and raised in the Wembley community. From the youngest, who is at Sinai JPS, to the oldest, living at Edinburgh House, members came together to eat, sing, and engage, as Rebbetzin Alison Harris spoke about the meaning of Shabbat and its unifying force. The ruach was amazing, showing how religious observance can strengthen communities.

“We feel blessed to have two centenarians at our lunch,” said Rabbi Simon Harris.  “Across our whole age range, from 9-105, ShabbatUK helps us to reconnect with what truly matters.”

Thank you ShabbatUK!
