ShabbatUK at Hampstead US was once again a resounding success.

On Friday night, a much larger than usual attendance enjoyed lively davening from Freddy Powell and Harry Marin and created a lovely ruach, followed by a whisky kiddush.

At Kiddush on Shabbat morning, Freddy Powell led the community in a niggun-singing session, a first for the Shul, which was very uplifting.

On Shabbat afternoon members of the shul packed the home of Rabbi Michael and Judith Harris to hear our special guest scholar, Rav Sharon Shalom. Rav Shalom shared the most moving story of his journey from his native Ethiopia to Israel and fascinating insights into his experiences in Israel, all interspersed with great humour. It was a talk which prompted both tears and laughter.

After Maariv a singing Communal Havdalah was held.

All in all, Hampstead US enjoyed a most special Shabbat.
