The Edgware United Shabbat Project was held from the 10th November-16th November and welcomed 350 attendees across all events.

Highlights included Challah Mummy leading The Great Big Challah Bake for all comers with over 50 people, Kids Challah Bake being enjoyed by over 40 children and parents; Judge Rev Shlomo Kreiman giving an entertaining talk at a sold out Friday Night dinner with 200 attendees from across our community enjoying amazing food and atmosphere with youth leading some Shabbat Zmirot.

Our Friday Night and Shabbat Services were led by guest Chazan Yisroel Rottenberg brought over specially from Israel.

Shabbat Project ended with a musical Havdalah, conducted by Rabbi Lister on guitar, Chaazn Rottenberg and children singing along – this was followed by food for the children and an excellent interactive circus skills led by our very own member Richard Linden.

In keeping with Shabbat Project ethos, our Friday Night Dinner had a number of table hosts who had reached to members and non members alike who would not normally join a Shul Friday Night Dinner. Our dinner was so popular that it sold out 2 weeks before Shabbat Project - the atmosphere in the hall with the amazing table decorations made it an evening to remember.

Rabbi Lister from Edgware United said: “The Shabbat project was a tremendous success. From the two challah bakes to the Friday night dinner to the Motsaei Madness Havdalah children's party, the shul was buzzing with the celebration of our Torah heritage and great community spirit. I am proud and grateful to be part of Edgware United and look forward to more great events in future.”

"What a special opportunity to share shabbat with close friends and family in our much loved Edgware shul as part of the international Shabbat Project", said Carrie Porter.
