Thursday 8 February marked a visit from Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth, the government Minister for Faith, to Luton Synagogue. The minister and his entourage explained that he was preparing a report on Integration and that in pursuit of this, he was visiting a number of different faith groups, exploring cultural and religious themes.

He has visited a number of Synagogues, including a recent visit in January to the Sephardic Jewish Bevis Marks Synagogue, Britain's oldest synagogue. He asked about activities at Luton Synagogue and particularly inter-faith activities locally. He said that he had spent Holocaust Memorial Day at the same event as the Chief Rabbi.

Lord Bourne is a barrister and was a Welsh MP before his elevation to the House of Lords. His role extends to being a Minister for Wales as well as for matters relating to gypsies and travellers.
