More than a hundred people turned out at Mill Hill Synagogue on Monday to hear speaker, Lt. Col. Eyal Dror. Dror spoke about his humanitarian missions in Syria. To date he was personally responsible for the rescue of 1,400 Syrians including many children, and delivering many tonnes of aid to the war torn country.
The event was organised by Israel Engagement, an organisation set up by Orli Rosen and Rabbi Schochet which to date has attracted near two thousand people to its events.
Rabbi Schochet said: “Amidst all the current rhetoric, we felt it important to show another side of Israel – the side the media don’t talk about and Israel’s critics choose to ignore.”
Another event is planned for next month when Nadia Cohen, wife of Israel’s famous Syrian superspy, Eli Cohen will be giving a personal account of her story.
