On 7th July, Luton Synagogue held a Quiz and Afternoon Tea for almost 40 attendees. The event was held to raise money for the refurbishment and installing of stained glass windows (which were kept at their former premises). £200 was raised towards the project.

The quiz and afternoon tea of scones with cream and jam was held, with quiz master Brian Bailey at the healm. The synagogue was buzzing and at full capacity, with teams from St Albans, Watford and Shenley, as well as the ‘Summer Quiz Queen’ team. The winning table came from the Watford and St Albans synagogue communities.

June Rose of the Summer Quiz Queen team said, ‘‘Thank you all so very much for welcoming us into your midst and for providing such a wonderful afternoon We all thoroughly enjoyed the tea quiz and can’t wait to support your next one’

Laurence Benjamin, Chair of Luton United Synagogue said, ‘The success of this quiz is part of the vibrant social scene in Luton. I am particularly pleased by the support from members of other communities as well as for the hard work made by Luton members to make the event a success.’
