As part of its 70th Anniversary celebrations, Kenton Synagogue’s ReJEWvenate Committee held a Desert Island Discs evening for more than one hundred guests.  The castaway was Michael Freedland who formerly presented his radio programme “You Don’t Have To Be Jewish” as well as having a career as a journalist, writer and biographer.  The host interviewer for the event was David Harris from Kenton. The choice of music ranged from classical to jazz and Yiddish and everything in between.  As a biographer, Michael Freedland has met so many of the Hollywood greats and was able to regale the audience with his stories about them.  For further details of future events commemorating Kenton’s 70th Anniversary, please contact Kenton Synagogue on 020 8907 5959.
