Last Shabbat saw an unusual occasion in Catford & Bromley Synagogue as Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave OBE who is leaving his post in South East London on his promotion to Bishop of Lichfield attended the morning service to which he had been invited by the Minister Bishop Michael who is also the Chairman of the Council of Christians and Jews has been a staunch supporter of all Interfaith events we have held.  He has attended many special events at our shul, including the Induction of Rev Cantor David Rome and also the visit to Catford of the Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, where he notably performed a sketch with our Minister.

A group from The London Cantorial Singers Choir accompanied Rev Rome for the service, which was followed by a sumptuous Kiddush, prepared as usual by our hard - working Ladies Society,  for the Community and several invited local dignitaries, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Lewisham Sir Steve & Lady Kris Bullock, the Mayor of the Borough of Royal Greenwich Olu Babatola and the Archdeacon of Lewisham & Greenwich the Venerable Alastair Cutting,in honour of Bishop Michael
