House of Life - Wildflower Sowing
Date Uploaded:
Monday 4th March 2019

We're creating a 30m2 "Quadrat" of California poppies at the rear of the cemetery, the first of our new biodiversity initiatives. We want to test how easy it will be to maintain and what visitors think of a more nature-friendly cemetery. Why not join us on Sunday morning 24 March 2019 for a few hours to sow Eschscholzia Californica?

What we are looking for:
• All levels of horticultural experience are accepted but an enthusiasm for gardening is essential.
• Able to work in a team with people of wide ranging ages and abilities.
• Physically able to work outside for short periods of time.

What’s in it for you?
• Fresh air and the opportunity to meet new people.
• The opportunity to develop your gardening knowledge and skills.
• The opportunity to meet and share experiences with people from different backgrounds.
• Full health and safety induction and training on all aspects of the role.
• Refreshments.
• Travel expenses covered.

If you have an enthusiasm for gardening and want to join us, email heritagevolunteers@theus.org.uk by Wednesday 20 March.

Green-fingered but can't make that date? We're creating our own dedicated gardening team who will start planting up new gardens and more Quadrats later in the year.
