Former Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Gordon Brown, gave the historic 17th Isaiah Berlin lecture at Hampstead Synagogue on Sunday 7th July. He was accompanied by his wife Sarah and his son Fraser, and attended a private reception before his talk where he gave an award to Ian Austin MP for his campaigning against antisemitism.

The Jewish News reports Mr Brown as saying during his speech, "We have to call out antisemitism for what it is: racism, and, in this case, anti-Jewish racism. And I promise that whenever prejudice and intolerance arises, I and whoever I can persuade, are not going to remain silent or stand aside or desert the Jewish community or neglect it or forget”.

We thank the Right Honourable Gordon Brown for an important and inspiring lecture and to Hampstead Synagogue for hosting him and his family.
