Yom Hazikaron & Yom Ha'atzmaut 
On Monday and Tuesday we will feel both extremes of emotion as we commemorate Yom Hazikaron (Day of Remembrance for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terrorism) and celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel’s birthday). There are many Yom Hazikaron services and Yom Ha’atzmaut events taking place across The US. To see what’s planned in your community visit our events system.

An audience with Tzipi Livni, 15th May

Women’s View 
This week sees the return of Women’s View with its variety of articles, recipe and book review. This month our three features relate to medicine, albeit in different formats – healing for the soultesting for faulty genes, and deciding when and who to take your young child to see when they are ill.

Community Screening for Jewish Genetic Disorders: 11th May at Finchley Synagogue 
1 in 5 Ashkenazi Jews are carriers of a Jewish genetic disorder. A simple blood test can identify if you are at increased risk of having an affected child. Screening covering 9 severe Jewish genetic disorders including Tay-Sachs, is now available.

There will be a community screening at Finchley Synagogue on Sunday 11th May. For more information and to register visit www.jewishgeneticdisordersuk.org.
