Since the inception of Mitzvah Day, Ealing Synagogue has hosted a tea party for a group of residents and their carers from a local residential home and this year was no exception.  Residents and carers from the St David's Home of Ex-Servicemen and Women, which has a Roman Catholic charitable foundation, were joined by residents of Chestnut Lodge, a local authority home, many of whose residents have some form of dementia.

As always, there was entertainment and this year we were delighted to be joined by Pippa Reid, a professional singer/story teller who received an excellent response from our guests in a clap-along/singalong.

It is also an opportunity for us to show our synagogue to our guests. Some of them have never seen a synagogue and they always show an interest in our explanation of the various aspects of the shul.

The residents and carers of both home said they had really enjoyed the afternoon.
