The funeral will be broadcast on the United Synagogue YouTube channel today from 11.00am GMT:

Timings and location

The funeral will take place on Sunday, January 20, at 11.00 at Bushey New Cemetery. The cemetery can be found on Little Bushey Lane, Bushey, WD23 3FF.

Parking is available at Bushey New Cemetery. We strongly advise you to arrive early and to carpool where possible with family and friends. Please listen to stewards on arrival who will guide you to a parking space. Once the car park is full, stewards will guide you to another one nearby which is about a 10 minute walk.

Please do not park on Little Bushey Lane unless a steward explicity asks you to. We also strongly advise you to avoid driving up or down Sandy Lane as it will be very busy.

You can download a map, and see public transport information, by clicking here.

A number of stonesettings are taking place on Sunday morning at Bushey Old Cemetery. The car park there will be reserved for family and friends attending a stonesetting only. Stewards will line the road to guide you to Bushey New Cemetery.

We have made special arrangements to ensure as many people as possible are able to follow the funeral ceremony. We will have screens in our second prayer hall which will be transmitting the ceremony live, and we are putting speakers in two other buildings on the site and outside the prayer hall. We are very mindful of health and safety concerns and the numbers of people that will be allowed into each room will be restricted.

Following the ceremony we will walk a couple of minutes to the grave for the burial. Transport will be provided for those who have requested assistance. We hope to establish a Holocaust Memorial Garden there in due course.

The forecast is very cold, with a chance of rain. Please dress accordingly as we will be outside for some time and you may not get in to a hall.

Safety and security

We thank the CST, as ever, who will be on site to keep us safe. We also thank the many volunteers who will be acting as stewards. Please listen to advice from stewards and CST at all times.
