Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis has formally inducted Rabbi Yechezkel Mandlebaum as Minister of Kingston, Surbiton and District Synagogue in the presence of a large number of distinguished guests including Michael Goldstein, President of the United Synagogue, several former rabbonim of the KS&DS congregation, and a number of ministers from adjoining communities. Since arriving in Kingston last year, Rabbi Mandlebaum, his wife Shulamis and their five children have endeared themselves to the community, notably with their artistic and musical talents. Rabbi Mandlebaum spoke about his Swiss upbringing and background and the importance of music in his life, and entertained the audience with his cantorial skills. Shul Chairman Sheila Mann welcomed everyone to the ceremony, which was followed by a festive afternoon tea.
