Bushey United Synagogue is delighted to announce that its nursery, Bushey Gan, has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

Bushey Gan earned a ‘Good’ for its Leadership and Management, Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development.

Ofsted said that “children make good progress in a lively, welcoming and engaging environment”. Bushey Gan staff were particularly singled out for praise by Ofsted. The regulator said that “staff clearly enjoy working with the children and understand their needs well” and that “staff who work with children are ambitious about children's abilities and plan activities that underpin their good progress.” Ofsted also noted the arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Ofsted reported that “parents praise how staff keep in touch with them and state that they receive lots of useful information about their children.”

Rabbi Nick Kett, Bushey United Synagogue’s Community Rabbi, said: “We are delighted with the recent Ofsted ‘Good’ rating we received for the Bushey Gan. It is testimony to the hard work, dedication and diligence of our teaching team under the direction of Michelle Peters, our head. Bushey Gan has been in the heart of our shul for well over 40 years and has established us as a key provider of the early years’ curriculum to the local Jewish community.”
