Over 250 people packed out Alei Tzion, the Hendon-based modern-orthodox, religious-Zionist community last Shabbat to celebrate the dedication of its new Beit Knesset. The new synagogue was dedicated with prayers and speeches from the Chief Rabbi, Alei Tzion’s Rav, Rabbi Daniel Roselaar and Chairman Eliot Kaye.

The Chief Rabbi encouraged the community to take advantage of its new 'Binyan' (building) to grow and develop its vibrant 'Minyan' (community). Funds were raised in the community and from the United Synagogue for refurbishment of their new building. The event was standing room only.

Rabbi Roselaar and Eliot Kaye thanked those who had contributed their time, money and expertise to the project. Project lead Jonathan Stern was presented with a new tallit for his exceptional contribution. Jonathan then made the Shehechiyanu bracha over the tallit and, on behalf of the entire community, for the new Beit Knesset.

Alei Tzion Chairman Eliot Kaye said, “It was truly momentous to have a packed house with an inspirational Ruach (atmosphere). We have a panoply of activities and programmes at Alei Tzion to suit all tastes and look forward to welcoming everyone as we make the very best of this Beit Knesset going forward.”
