The successful candidate will make a vital contribution to the work of the Chief Rabbi and his office. In this varied role you will take responsibility for implementing strategy, developing key relationships, managing the Chief Rabbi’s office, and maintaining effective communication with the media. If you have strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills combined with a high level of knowledge, experience and understanding of and passion for the Anglo Jewish community, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for a person with a strong background in payroll for a hands-on position operating a payroll system for 750+ employees. This key role is to provide a full payroll function for the whole Charity from collecting and collating pay instructions to processing the monthly payroll to producing the various statutory year-end returns, and to providing the Finance Department with the data and reconciliations it needs to ensure completeness of information.
The successful candidate must possess excellent Excel spreadsheet skills and proven experience operating a commercially-recognised payroll/personnel system. Strong communications skills are essential as the position will need to liaise closely with local Synagogue trustees and administrators, heads of central departments, employees and statutory bodies and will help ensure a service-based approach in our relationship with our communities. We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance Department. Duties will include reconciliation of main and subsidiary bank accounts, sales ledger control accounts, and balance sheet control.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will also assist with the preparation for period and year end schedules as well as other data processing tasks. The successful candidate would ideally be AAT qualified or an ambitious finalist, with proven experience using computerised financial applications.
