APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE NEXT CHIEF RABBI OPENS
The application process for the position of the Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the UK and Commonwealth is now formally open, with an advertisement appearing in the Jewish Chronicle on 3rd February 2012.
Potential applicants are invited to apply by 5th March 2012 / 11th Adar 5772.
The latest phase of the selection process took place on 25th January 2012 with a meeting of the Consulting Group. At the meeting, the members discussed in depth the job description and person specification for the next Chief Rabbi. After a positive and constructive debate, the group agreed on the final details of the application documents which will are now available on the website of the Office of the Chief Rabbi.
United Synagogue and Chief Rabbinate Trust President Stephen Pack said:
“We had an excellent meeting of the Consulting Group which lasted well over three hours. The group includes community figures from across the UK and shows just how passionately and seriously all the parties involved are taking the process for the selection of the next Chief Rabbi.
