CHIEF RABBI AND LADY SACKS HOST RECEPTION FOR NEWLY WEDS

The Chief Rabbi and Lady Sacks hosted a reception at their home on Sunday December 14th to welcome some of the couples recently married under the auspices of the United Synagogue. The reception, the first of its kind, offered couples the opportunity to meet each other.

The Chief Rabbi shared his thoughts on the meaning of the family home. Rabbi Andrew Shaw, United Synagogue, spoke about the importance of becoming involved with one's US community. Guests included United Synagogue President Dr. Simon Hochhauser and Chairman of the Rabbinical Council for the United Synagogue, Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet.

Lindi Wigman, Marriage Liaison Officer, commented: "The reception was a great success and we hope to hold similar ones next year. It was a lovely opportunity to meet with some of our newly married couples after their special occasion and share their experiences".

Marc George, one of the newlywed guests, said: "It was a real privilege to be invited to the home of the Chief Rabbi. My wife, Hayley and I had a lovely time meeting new people."
