WOODSIDE PARK SYNAGOGUE APPOINTS NEW RABBI

Woodside Park United Synagogue is delighted to announce that Rabbi Pinchas Hackenbroch has been appointed as its new Rabbi. Following a successful and enjoyable weekend spent with the Woodside Park community, Rabbi Hackenbroch received the overwhelming support of its members at an EGM held on Sunday 19th October.

Rabbi Hackenbroch, who attained rabbinical ordination in 2003 from the Kollel Halichos in Jerusalem, has been working as Rabbi of Newton Mearns Hebrew Congregation in Glasgow for the past five years. London born Rabbi Hackenbroch has a law degree from London University and spent a year lecturing in Jewish Philosophy and Talmud in Israel. He is married to Gila and they have five children. Rabbi Hackenbroch will transfer to London with his family in mid-November and is expected to take up his new position by the end of the year.

Gary Simon, Chairman of Woodside Park, commented: "We are delighted that Rabbi Hackenbroch and his wife Gila will be joining the Woodside Park community. They are special people with a wonderful track record of success built on their obvious warmth, spirituality and enthusiasm. We look forward to working closely with them to develop further our thriving community for years to come."

My wife and I are both looking forward to the opportunity of working with such a warm and vibrant community and inspiring its continued growth and development. We have very much enjoyed our time with the Newton Mearns community who we are sorry to leave, but will head south with great joy and anticipation."
