STUDENT LEADERS RECEIVE EXPERT ADVICE FROM CHIEF RABBI
The Chief Rabbi, Sir Jonathan Sacks, spoke to 120 of the community’s student leaders at a special Friday night dinner at St. John’s Wood Shul last weekend, organised by the University Jewish Chaplaincy Board, TRIBE and Union of Jewish Students.
The students, who represented many of the JSoc committees on university campuses around the country, were given an inspirational address by the Chief Rabbi on the importance of strong effective leadership. The question and answer session which followed focused on Israel advocacy on campus, student politics and the common themes between antisemitism and anti-zionism.
Students from London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Cambridge, Nottingham, Warrick, Reading, Oxford, Bristol, Newcastle and Glasgow attended the event.
Rabbi Gavin Broder, London Region Student Chaplain commented: "It was amazing to see so many key university students representing JSocs around the country spending Friday night together with their Chaplains."
David Collins, Tribe Campus Executive, commented: “This event was an example of Tribe’s ongoing support of the Jewish Student Chaplaincy Board and it also highlighted the central role which our TRIBE Campus Ambassadors have on university campuses around the country.”
