Are You Listening? - US Provides Training For Volunteer Care Groups

PRESS RELEASE

ARE YOU LISTENING? –
US PROVIDES TRAINING FOR VOLUNTEER CARE GROUPS

Having established Care Groups in 42 synagogues across the US, the US Community Cares Advisory Group (part of the Community Division) ran an Awareness and Training seminar as part of its ongoing training programme. Over 50 volunteers attended last weekend’s seminar entitled Are you listening?, at Golders Green synagogue. The seminar provided expert advice and professional training on listening and responding to the needs of their community.

The US Care Groups are responsible for a broad spectrum of welfare support including assistance for families with new babies, visiting the elderly, hospital visits and home help, and the seminar explored the best practice for responding to individual concerns appropriately.

Stuart Bloom, Chairman of US Community Cares, commented: “The Care Groups are becoming increasingly important throughout the US communities due to an ever increasing demand for all aspects of welfare support from our members. Over 500 US members volunteer for Care Groups and these training seminars are vital to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to respond appropriately and swiftly to those who call upon them for help. We are indebted to our volunteers for the essential service they provide within their communities.”
