AUSSIE ORCHESTRA WOW TRIBE

A school orchestra of over 50 Australian Jewish teenagers left the sunshine of Down Under and braved the British winter to join up with TRIBE and perform to a capacity audience at Woodside Park Synagogue.

For 6 days, TRIBE played host to the orchestra from Moriah College, Sydney and their families which took part in a tour that took them from their home town to Israel, France and the UK. The musicians, some as young as 11, wowed over 250 music lovers at the shul. As their tour of the capital continued, they also entertained students at JFS in Kingsbury and King Solomon High School, Ilford.

They mesmerised audiences with renditions from Fiddler on the Roof and Schindler’s List as well as classical and contemporary jazz pieces.

Avi Friedmann, TRIBE Teens Executive and co-ordinator of the trip commented “It was an absolute pleasure to be able to host the pupils from Moriah School. They put on a truly spellbinding performance, and TRIBE are looking forward to welcoming them back in the near future.”
