US CHIEF EXEC STEPS DOWN AFTER 6 YEARS IN POST

Rabbi Saul Zneimer, the Chief Executive of the United Synagogue, is leaving the post he has held for the last six years to take up a position in the commercial sector as Chief Operating Officer of the Lyons Presentations Group based in Kentish Town.

The United Synagogue Trustees are working closely with Rabbi Zneimer to ensure a smooth transition and will announce specific plans for the recruitment process in due course.

Simon Hochhauser President of the United Synagogue said, “Working with Rabbi Zneimer over the past six years has been a pleasure. He came to the United Synagogue at a difficult time. He tackled its many challenges with freshness and integrity. Above all, he has helped us to move the Community forward and has created an organisation fit for the modern era. Rabbi Zneimer leaves a healthy institution and we look forward to recruiting a successor able to build further on his achievements. We wish him very well in his new career.”

Rabbi Zneimer commented, “I have been very privileged to serve the community in this post for six years, during which time the United Synagogue has achieved many important things. I would like to thank my lay and professional colleagues both inside and outside the US for their constant support as we took on and succeeded in a number of major projects. It has been a great pleasure to work alongside so many talented and dedicated people. I leave feeling that the US is now very well positioned to embrace the challenges that the future will bring.”
