HEAD OF US CHESED MOVING ON AFTER EIGHT YEARS OF ACHIEVEMENT
After eight years at the United Synagogue, Candice Woolfson, Director of US Chesed has decided it’s time to move on.
Candice started her US career in the Community Development Group dealing with community research before pursuing an area of work close to her heart, taking on the new post of Head of Project Chesed. As the social action arm of the US, under Candice’s direction, Project Chesed took a lead in addressing a wide range of issues in the Jewish and wider community. Whether encouraging blood donation or recycling old phones, thousands of US members have been engaged by the work of Project Chesed.
With responsibility also for US Community Cares, Candice presided over a significant expansion in the provision of welfare services to the elderly and isolated members of the US. One notable achievement is the Pesach Food Parcels, sent to over 500 US families in need. This achievement illustrates perfectly the real impact that Candice and her team’s work has been having on the community.
Jeremy Jacobs, US Chief Executive commented;
“Candice has provided the perfect combination of energy and professionalism to ensure the delivery of this essential aspect of the US’ work. We are very sad to see Candice leave the US professional staff but she leaves with all our good wishes for the future. She goes having placed the Chesed agenda at the forefront of the US strategy for the future. Her successes are a great testament to her and will set a very high standard for her successors.”
Commenting on her decision to move on, Candice Woolfson said;
“It has been an honour to work with the US and in particular my professional and voluntary colleagues. The success achieved in this crucial area is not down to just one person but a whole team of passionate and driven people working together for a common cause. For my part, it is lovely to be able to look back on many things that I am proud of over the last eight years. Now I feel that it’s a good time to move on to some fresh challenges.”
