TRIBE ISRAEL HOSTS MEETING WITH THE CHIEF RABBI FOR UK GAP YEAR STUDENTS

Tribe Israel hosted a meet and greet event for 120 British Gap Year students last week who spent the evening with Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks in Jerusalem. The students came together from across Israel to hear an inspiring talk by the Chief Rabbi who discussed the importance of being a leader in World Jewry. He stressed the point that everyone present had a great responsibility on their shoulders as ambassadors for Israel and Judaism.

Participants took the opportunity to question and discuss the issues highlighted by the Chief Rabbi which included questions on the Middle-East peace process, antisemitism and the future of centrist orthodox British Jewry.

Year course participant, Gemma Cowan said;

"The event was amazing. We could really feel that the Chief Rabbi was prioritising us and taking us seriously as future leaders of world Jewry.”

Daniel Bratt also on year course said;

"We've all grown up with the Chief Rabbi as the leader of British Jewry so who better to inspire us to take our futures into our own hands and make a difference?"

Participant Stephanie Lipman said;

"To have the opportunity to ask questions of the Chief Rabbi with such an intimate crowd was definitely something special. Sitting in an audience of Gap Year students, all active on our various youth movements meant that no one was too shy to be controversial in what they asked. That, along with some very well received dairy milk chocolate supplied by Tribe, made it a great afternoon."
