TRIBE LAUNCH FIRST US DAY CARE CENTRE AT SOUTH HAMPSTEAD
In an exciting first, an OFSTED regulated orthodox Jewish Day Care Centre has officially opened at South Hampstead United Synagogue in conjunction with Tribe.
Conveniently located near Chalk Farm tube, the BabyiSH day care centre is open from 8am until 6.15pm, allowing parents to work a full day safe in the knowledge that their children are being cared for in a warm, Jewish environment. For parents eager to go back to work or even just to have a couple of quiet mornings to themselves, the day care centre is a welcome option.
BabyiSH currently cares for more than 10 children from the ages of 3 months up to 2 and a half years, with the option of sessions in the morning, afternoon or a full day. Everything at the day care centre is brand new with toys and equipment handpicked to provide stimulation to aid in the development of the children’s mobility and motor skills.
Each week has a different theme and Jewish festivals play a big part with the teachers singing Hebrew songs and painting pictures with the children. As the children are from various countries and backgrounds, the day care centre provides them with a range of multi-cultural activities. It would be no surprise to find the children listening to French nursery rhymes or hearing some teachers speaking in Hebrew at the request of the parents.
Three Kosher meals, freshly cooked onsite, are provided daily and are tailored to suit the individual dietary requirements of each child to ensure a healthy and balanced diet.Lauren & Rabbi Eli Levin, who manage the BabyiSH project spoke of how the addition of the day care centre now means that South Hampstead Synagogue has the services to cater for the entire community and said:
“BabyiSH provides a niche service through offering high quality child care in a warm community environment rich with traditional Jewish values. We were eager to offer Jewish education through our shul even to our youngest tots. South Hampstead United Synagogue is a growing community centre which engages people of all ages in a wide range of access points beyond its prayer and religious services.”
Yael Peleg of Tribe said;
“The results of the Tribe Daycare Centre Survey showed an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the idea of offering day care services to US members. The launch of the South Hampstead Synagogue daycare centre, supported by Tribe, is another service that the US is delighted to offer to our community.”
