TRIBE CREATES MORE TILT LEADERS FOR THE UK

London,
14 May 2010

This week 20 students graduated from the Tribe TILT Leadership Programme in Israel. The graduation ceremony was led by Rabbi Andrew Shaw, Executive Director of Tribe.

During the course of the year, graduates participated in four weeks of twelve in depth training seminars. Vibrant and inspiring teachers ran the sessions on subjects ranging from public speaker training and counselling to PR and marketing. The TILT students also had to take part in practical training including spending a Shabbat at Kibbutz Lavi with the JFS Year 9 Israel Programme.

The TILT programme is aimed at motivated and enthusiastic people who want to contribute to the work of Tribe and the United Synagogue when they return to the UK.

Commenting after Friday’s graduation, Rabbi Shaw said: “The students on this year’s leadership programme were outstanding. They have soaked up all the opportunities we have given them and inspired us as well as each other. We look forward to seeing them all involved in our communities in the future.”

Joe Tarsh, a 2010 graduate and a Member of Radlett United Synagogue said: “Being part of the TILT group this year has added immeasurably to my Israel gap year experience. I have picked up so many new skills which I am looking forward to utilising back home in the UK next year. Thanks Tribe for this amazing programme.”
