TRIBE CLOSES THE GAP FOR RETURNING JEWISH TEENS

More than 170 students from 20 different gap-year schemes in Israel joined together on Monday. The United Synagogue's Tribe organised the 'Closing the Gap' event in Jerusalem to prepare students for campus life once they are back in the UK.

Tribe executive director Rabbi Andrew Shaw said, "I hope that the students who attended the event will become fully engaged on campus with Tribe, the Union of Jewish Students, their local Jewish Student Society, their chaplaincy and, ultimately, their United Synagogue community."

The event included sessions from UJS chairman Jessica Truman and Rabbi Yoni Sherizen, chief executive of the University Jewish Chaplaincy.
