WANTED: NEW US CHIEF EXEC
The hunt’s on for a new man to take the helm of the United Synagogue after Rabbi Saul Zneimer announced last Friday that he would be stepping down as Chief Executive.
The 46-year-old who has held the role for the past six years, will be leaving in six months time to take up a position as Chief Operating Officer of the Lyons Presentations Group.
Zneimer, an Oxford graduate and former rabbi of Kenton United Synagogue, said: “I have been very privileged to serve the community in this post for six years, during which time the United Synagogue has achieved many important things.
“It has been a great pleasure to work alongside so many talented and dedicated people. I leave feeling that the US is now very well positioned to embrace the challenges that the future will bring.”
US President Simon Hochhauser said: “Working with Rabbi Zneimer over the past six years has been a pleasure. He came to the United Synagogue at a difficult time. He tackled its many challenges with freshness and integrity. Above all, he has helped us to move the Community forward and has created an organisation fit for the modern era.
“Rabbi Zneimer leaves a healthy institution and we look forward to recruiting a successor able to build further on his achievements. We wish him very well in his new career.”
