SACKS ON SONG IN ISRAEL

Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks and United Synagogue president Dr Simon Hochhauser joined the Shabbaton Choir for a four-day solidarity mission to Israel.

The 50-strong group, sponsored by the Ziff family and UJIA, met terror victims, the sick and disabled in hospitals, residential homes and care facilities across Israel. The choir sang for residents and also gave three major fundraising concerts.

Describing the mission as “among the most moving I have experienced”, Sir Jonathan Sacks added: “The choir has lifted the spirits of the victims of terror and their courage has lifted and inspired us. It is a privilege to be present at these encounters of soul joined to soul through song.”
