SYNAGOGUE CHAMPIONS

A new initiative to encourage lay leadership within Anglo-Jewry was launched by the United Synagogue this week. Champions of Change is a 12-month programme which will see individuals receive professional training in ways they can assist their shuls and the community as a whole.
The US also launched its new website this week, www.unitedsynagogue.org.uk. Among the services on offer, the site built by Jewish News parent company Totally Plc, allows users to search for burial records and gives advice on Jewish education, bar and batmitzvahs, getting married and kashrut. Users will also be offered exclusive discounts on Judaica both in the UK and abroad.
