CLAYHALL FILLS ITS PULPIT

A 19-MONTH search by an Essex synagogue for a new minister has ended with the appoiotment of a rabbi aged 30.

Manchester-born Rabbi Nissan Wilson joins Clayhall following a spell at the Kollel Beis Aharan in Edgware, where he ran social and educational programmes. He studied in Gateshead and Jerusalem, and has taught ay Immanuel College, Bushey, and lectured at the MST College in Hendon.

Rabbi Wilson, who has a wife and three young children, succeeds Rabbi Jason Kleiman, who left in December 2004. He told the JC: "The community is vibrant and warm and my wife and I are excited about becoming part of it. I look forward to working with the honorary officers and board and am sure that we will see the community go from strength to strength."

Shul chairman Lester Harris added:
"They are an outstanding team who will make a positive and significant impact. We look forward to many years of spiritual growth and development."
