The United Synagogue is a modern and united family of communities whose members are connected to vibrant Jewish life and Torah values. We welcome every Jew, create a sense of belonging, offer lifelong Jewish learning opportunities, foster spiritual growth and practice, encourage mutual responsibility and stress the centrality of Israel in Jewish life.

The United Synagogue comprises 62 synagogues throughout Greater London. Wherever you are living, there is likely to be a local United Synagogue to serve your needs.

By joining a United Synagogue you will be able to access a wide range of provisions from your local community, including religious services as well as social and educational services too. Your community will be there for you at lifecycle moments from the happy occasions such as birth, Bar/Batmitzvah and marriage as well as at more difficult times, when you may need extra support. At all times your local Rabbi will be available to answer any questions and offer his support.

When you join the US, you also become a member of the US Burial Scheme, which ensures that you will be buried when the time comes in one of our US cemeteries at no extra charge. This benefit like any insurance scheme lasts as long as you are a paid up member.

Because of our predominance in the market as the largest Orthodox synagogue body, and because of our links with the Kashrut Division of the London Beth Din, we are able to offer, exclusively to our members, a variety of different discounts throughout the course of membership in the organisation. When you join the US you are physically joining your local synagogue and indeed your membership fee supports your local community, its infrastructure, the fabric of the building, the professional services and support you will receive.

Additionally you are also becoming part of the largest and leading synagogue body in the world and a proportion of your membership fee is supporting the wider infrastructure of British Jewish life.

So when you join us it’s not just a matter of joining for your own benefit, you are also benefiting many others; you are recognising the nature of collective responsibility to one another - Kol Yisrael Areivim Ze Ba Ze - “All of Israel is responsible for one another”.
