The United Synagogue Burial Society is responsible for all the activities surrounding the burial of our members. We organise, oversee and advise on the various processes that are required by both Jewish and English law at this difficult time. We are also responsible for maintaining the infrastructure of our burial grounds and mortuaries.
We maintain eleven cemeteries, both active and disused. It is not always practical due to Health and Safety legislation to keep all our cemeteries permanently open. Our cemeteries that are permanently open are Bushey, Waltham Abbey, Willesden and Marlow Road.
The US Burial Society has a strict ‘no gratuities’ policy and people who would like to donate are asked to do so through our charity boxes found in our cemeteries. These monies will help the Burial Society to raise much needed funds for both the purchase of stones for unmarked graves and to assist in the restoration of older broken stones.
In total the US Burial Society has more than 70 members of staff and every single one is committed to offering US members the best possible service. If you would like further information please contact:
