Our President & Trustees

The Trustees of the United Synagogue are elected to take on overall responsibility for what is a large and complex charity. They serve for a three-year term. The current team assumed office in July 2008.

The Trustees have produced a document called Manifesto 2008 with their plans for the future of the United Synagogue available to download below.

Stephen Fenton - Treasurer

Stephen is a Treasurer of the United Synagogue and was elected as a Trustee in 2005. He graduated as a BSc from the LSE in 1972 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1975 - he was made a partner in his practice the following year.

In the past, Stephen has been the financial representative of the Bushey, Northwood and Ilford Synagogues, and from 2002-5 stood as Chairman of the US Audit Review committee. Stephen is also active in charity work - he was the treasurer of the Bradley Kett Foundation, raising over £160,000 for a London hospital, and served as a member of the Handicapped Children’s Aid Committee and various JNF and other committees.
